Monday is National Doctors Day

Monday is National Doctors Day.  We at Bayshore Pediatrics are gearing up to recognize the doctors we work with on a daily basis, many are our own children’s pediatricians.    We are taking this nationally designated time to express our thanks and appreciation for the mentoring, dedication, and the great working relationship we have with the doctors of Bayshore Pediatrics.  Thank You!

National Doctors Day was first celebrated on March 30, 1933, the anniversary of the first use of anesthesia. The day was celebrated by mailing cards to doctors and by placing flowers on the graves of deceased doctors. In 1990, then-President George Bush signed a resolution designating March 30 as National Doctors’ Day.   This day has been designated as a day to recognize, acknowledge and thank the physicians for their care and dedication.

What can you do with your children to highlight National Doctors Day?  Here are a few suggestions:

  • Have fun with the possibility of being a doctor – let your children pretend.
  • Make a craft about doctor related things such as stethoscopes, doctor bags, and other related things.
  • Share stories about how doctors impact our lives.

We would love to hear how doctors have positively impacted your lives.  Can you share some of your stories with us?
