My 9 and 11 year-old sons love to play all kinds of board games like Apples to Apples, Stratego, Life, an Monopoly. They truly love games like Farkle & Yatzee that also in a fun way helps with their math skills and scrabble! They love the family time as well!

One of our many favorites is BLINK! It's a fast-moving card game that really challenges your brain. My 7-year-old has been playing it with us for several years, and we never grow tired of it. It makes a great birthday gift for kids, too -- we found it at Target.

We just discovered Pay Day, which is really fun and teaches budget and monthly finance. If only in real life it was that simple! :)

This is a great post about board games! One night I was 0-4 in Candyland against my 6-year old son, and I wasn't trying to lose either! I kept getting sent back to the candy cane and ginderbread man. Luck just wasn't on my side.

Even though I was defeated numerous times, the quality time with him was fantastic!

My son loves playing Hi-Ho Cherrio! It is great because it helps him work on counting. I, too, always lose.

Our son's all time favorite game is Clue. He ALWAYS wins. I used to be suspicious that he was cheating & went to great lengths to prevent it. I later realized he is just ridiculously good at Clue. Now that he is a little older, he also loves a game called Ticket to Ride.

Our two year old daughter likes to play the matching game called Lucky Ducks.
