Smiles and Giggles
Smiles and giggles are something that brightens everyone’s day. Sometimes we forget what made us smile for the week. Recently the manager of Bayshore Pediatrics read an article that talked about a family smile box. The family had created a “smile box” and “smile cards” where members of the family could write down something that made them smile through the week and put it in the box. At the end of the week, the family would bring the smile box out at dinner and read these smiles, remembering and laughing all over again what made the family smile.
Bayshore Pediatrics is trying a version of the smile box. More »

Our staff rocks! Thank you.
In honor of Bayshore Pediatrics Employee Appreciation week, we would like to say Thank You to our staff and let everyone know that we think they are pretty terrific. We couldn’t be the pediatric clinic serving your children in the best way possible without them. They are the kind voice you hear answer the phone, the smile you see when you come in, the caring you see feel when your child is sick, the efficiency you receive when needing a form or prescription, and warmth and compassion you see everyday.
We thank our staff for everything they do everyday!

Where in the world are the stickers?
One of the most common questions heard at Bayshore Pediatrics is “where are the stickers?” or “can I have a sticker?”. If you or your child has been here even for a few visits, you will know that children clue in very quickly to the reward of a sticker or pencil at the end of every visit, often becoming upset if mom or dad tries to leave without stopping to choose the best princess, car, or superhero sticker (or pencil for the older kids).
Since October, we have heard the children wonder “where in the world are the stickers?” and heard a common response – “I guess they aren’t giving these out anymore.” Well, rest assured we have stickers and pencils. They have simply been moved. In order to eliminate the spreading of sickness, especially when H1N1 was a great concern, we decided to move these from the front. For the most part, we now hand these out rather than having many hands going through them. They are now by the nurses station and a few are kept up front with the receptionist. We know how important stickers and pencils are for making everything better. We’ll be happy to provide the much needed Elmo, Dora, Belle, Spiderman, or Car sticker – just ask any one of us. So know that next time you’re in you don’t have to wonder “where in the world are the stickers” but can look forward to the smiles that stickers and pencils bring.
