CDC alerts public about noted phishing scam

We would like to pass this along to provide caution to all our families regarding this alert.

Have a great day.

PHISHING SCAM  – CDC Sponsored State Vaccination Program for H1N1

CDC has received reports of fraudulent emails (phishing) referencing a CDC sponsored State Vaccination Program for H1N1. The messages request that users create a personal H1N1 (swine flu) Vaccination Profile on the CDC.gov web site.

Users that click on the embedded link in the email are at risk of having malicious code installed on their system. CDC reminds users to take the following steps to reduce the risk of being a victim of a phishing attack:

  • Do not open or respond to unsolicited email messages.
  • Do not click links embedded in emails from unknown senders.
  • Use caution when entering personal information online.
  • Update anti-virus, spyware, firewall, and anti-spam software regularly.

Bayshore Pediatrics wants your opinion

If you have been a patient family of ours for more than a year, you may have seen the surveys that we hand out for feedback in October.  In receiving the feedback, we asked the question – why do we only ask one time a year, why not year around?  We want to know that we are serving our families with the best possible care year around and if not, how can we improve.  We have developed a feedback form that will be available on our blog and website year around.   The survey can now be found under Resources – Feedback Form: A Survey about your visit.

We look foward to the feedback, it is important to us and we thank you for it.

Introducing Dr. Beth Silver

Dr. Bencik has had her baby – we are so excited for her.   In order to continue provinding quality care for her patients during her maternity leave, we would like to introduce Dr. Beth Silver as a covering physician.  Dr. Silver joins us temporarily for the next month.  She was previously serving patients at the Children’s Hospital Emergency Department as a triage physician.

If you are calling for an illness, we will schedule patients with her as well as the other physicians at Bayshore Pediatrics.  If you are calling with a question, we will continue to take a message and one of the physicians will return your call.

H1N1 and Seasonal Flu Vaccine

It seems that this is the only topic we have been posting lately and it has been a few days since the last post.  We are hopeful to get back to parenting and helpful topics soon.  Thank you to everyone for their continued patience during this time.

First, we would like to provide information related to the seasonal flu vaccine.  At this time, we have received the remainder of our shipment of seasonal flu injectable vaccine for children 3 years and up.  We continue to have seasonal flu vaccine for under 3.  We no longer have the seasonal nasal spray available.  If you are interested in receiving the seasonal flu vaccine for your child that is 3 years and up, it is important to schedule at this time as we cannot guarantee supply beyond the next two weeks.
