Immunization records – something new
If you are like most parents, you don’t necessarily keep a copy of your childs immunization records for those many requests from schools. Bayshore Pediatrics would like to share a new way to access your childs immunization record directly from home. The Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR) is a statewide secure computerized record of your childs immunizations. Immunizations provided at Bayshore Pediatrics, public health departments, or many other clinics around the state of Wisconsin are reported to the Wisconsin Immunization Registry on a routine basis. MMR does not cause Autism!
At Last! Drs. Paley, Bencik, Melbye and I have been saying it for years! There is no link between the MMR vaccine and autism. And finally, the terrible study which came out just over 10 years ago that put undo fear into the hearts of parents worldwide has finally been proven to be what we have known for a long time – worthless!

Whooping cough – Dr. Bencik in the news
As previously noted, Pertussis or whooping cough, is back in the schools. As of today, there are four confirmed cases at local schools. Dr. Bencik was recently interviewed by Fox 6 news regarding her experience with pertussis and the need to vaccinate children. Pertussis is back
Pertussis or “whooping cough” has reemerged in our community. There are three confirmed cases in elementary school children in Whitefish Bay–one of whom is my son. For the record, Jake was fully vaccinated against pertussis; however, the vaccine is only 85 percent effective. Vaccinations are not 100 percent effective, and efficacy is different for each individual vaccine.

Recent death from a vaccine-preventable illness
I was devastated to hear about the recent death of a Minnesota child from Hib meningitis. The reason I was so upset is that this is a vaccine-preventable illness and this death did not need to occur. Over the past few years we have heard much about “the dangers of vaccines.” What people do not realize is the immense danger in not immunizing your children. The diseases we immunize against kill infants and children. More »
